Change and adaptation is really hard sometimes, as is saying goodbye to loved ones, pressing pause on our ideal form of exercise while we recover from injury, caring for others, being busy with everyone else or struggling with mental health.
When I shared my disgruntlement about my own issues as I recover from injury, a fellow trainer (shout out to Jeanette!) mentioned it really helped her in a similar situation to focus on what she could do as she recovered from a back injury. As I pondered her words, it hit me that I’ve been stuck grieving the loss of teaching a class I loved rather than making the most of my situation. I’ve been so stuck missing the thrill, excitement and social nature of class I’ve completely missed the opportunity to focus on what I CAN do right now to be moving in a better direction. Today I chose to focus on how much I’ve loved my early mornings with Yoga, Pilates and Barre- it’s helping me stay active, strengthen my body without added weight or impact, it’s increasing my flexibility.
So I have a question for you if you are feeling stuck:
Do you need to focus on all the things you CAN do right now rather than the things you can’t?
What can you do right now that you can be proud of?
Don’t miss an opportunity to make the best of a crummy situation💜
