This Easy Tip Helps My Clients Enjoy Their Favorite Foods in Moderation

Scroll down to content

Do you ever feel like you have to give up your favorite foods in order to be healthy? Do you find the word “moderation” laughable?  Have you ever tried to lose weight by cutting out “junk food” only to binge on them later?  Science is showing that restrictive diets lead to weight gain, binge eating and heightened cravings.  What do you do if you want to embrace moderation but don’t know how?

You are not alone. At all. So many of my clients have struggled with feeling out of control or having an all-or-nothing attitude about eating. This is one of the ways that I encourage my clients to enjoy some of the less nutrient dense foods while getting a balanced meal in. Eat your dessert, snack, whatever it is with your meal. Eat it slowly, savor it and stop when you’re full. PS- in case you’re curious, this is chicken sausage, tomatoes/cucumbers drizzled with olive oil salt and pepper, Cheetos, and watermelon/grapes.

Enjoying food doesn’t have to be stressful. Slow down and enjoy
